Happy Anniversary, sweetie!
Today is our first wedding anniversary.
I’ve noticed that I don’t really notice wearing my wedding ring anymore. It no longer phases me to introduce Kimi as “my wife.” Instead, I feel comfortable and happy. And, of course, Sammy has changed our lives in ways too numerous to count.
Kimi — Love you very much. Can’t wait to see the surprise you have planned for tonight. Love, S.

Thanks all! Kimi surprised me with dinner at Aqua in San Francisco. (I was also just now surprised to find that their website plays music, and by coincidence samples from one of my favorite cooldown songs, “Slip Into Something More Comfortable” by Kinobe.)
We had an amazing dinner; it is a fabulous restaurant. Kimi promised to write a blog entry about it, but she’s been too busy. We selected the 3-course dinner. I selected the Grilled Local Calamari to start; it was a little strong but delicious. Kimi had the Day Boat Maine Scallop, which I sampled and liked even more. For the main course, Kimi chose to be adventurous and try the Monkfish Persillade. She found it a bit too heavy (we were almost full by that time given the Chef’s tastings and bread) and would have preferred the tuna. I had the lobster fricassee, which is an experience you simply must undergo before you pass on. It’s basically a lobster pot pie. Heavenly.
For dessert I had the Autumn Apple Medley. I have never in my entire life tasted anything more delicious than the green apple sorbet. Kimi’s Chocolate Composition was also very well done.
They treated us well, giving us a Happy Anniversary card (amusingly, I was “Mr. Winters”) and painting Happy Anniversary in chocolate on our dessert plates. This was a great first anniversary dinner; I’m not sure how I’ll top it when it’s my turn to select next year.
Thank you sweetie!
