Goodbye, Tony Soprano. Hello John from Cincinnati.

I knew Tony Soprano. I worked with Tony Soprano. And believe me, John from Cincinnati, you’re no Tony Soprano.

As for the finale itself: The world seems outraged by the “ambiguous” ending to the Sopranos last night, but I thought it was perfect. In retrospect, Chase hardly could have written either ending that people expected.

This post wasn’t helpful for those precious few us in the world who don’t follow the series. But strangely, the post also doesn’t motivate me enough to go on the web to find the answers to a question I’m not sure I know how to ask.

So what’s the 1 paragraph summary of what you’re trying to say without saying it to those who don’t want to read it, but to those who want to read it without having to know the rest of it, and for those who haven’t read it and won’t read it due to WANTING to not read it due to not seeing it?

John from Cincinnati is HBO’s new show that debuted following the last episode ever of The Sopranos. I watched a few minutes of it and don’t think I’ll like it. But that may be premature.

The coming of The Sopranos series finale generated a lot of speculation. Generally people were of two camps: Either Tony was going to get wacked, or he would win the mob war and life would go on as normal. Without spoiling too much, the ending was different from that. A lot of people today and last night were writing about how they hated it. I didn’t hate it, I don’t think any other ending other than what was shown was really possible.

Also it featured Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” prominently, which said song is now stuck firmly in my branez.

I didn’t stay at my parents long enough to watch all of John from Cincinnati. I had seen some promos for it and it didn’t really catch my attention. I watched long enough to see Luke Perry…I’ll always love Dylan McKay. I’ve heard good things about it though so I might give it a try if they show it at an earlier time.

I’m torn about the way The Sopranos ended…would’ve liked more closure but it’s what I thought was going to happen.

Lacy Tree, why do you care what time it’s on? TiVo!

I don’t have HBO…plus Dad has been recording the Tudors which comes on at 10. That is much better!
