Ctrl+Shift+T: Reopen closed tab in Firefox

Posted in Firefox by estephen on January 16th, 2008

Suppose you close a browser window tab in Firefox with Ctrl+W.

Whoops! Wait a second, I wanted to read that!

To re-open it, press Ctrl+Shift+T. Phew!

I just discovered your website and I’ve been loading up my Genovation.com 683 programmable keypad full of your shortcut hints. Now the shortcuts are only one key press away!

Well, hmm, you’re right about that. So I just went back to that August 17th one and changed it. Hah! The power!

Now the August 17th post talks about how Ctrl+J opens up the downloads window.

    Thanks for catching that!

    THANK YOU!
I hate that Ctrl+W hotkey with such a passion that when I accidentally hit it when attempting to press Shift+W that I would be in prison for life if I ever meet the individual who thought the Ctrl+W hotkey was a good idea. I mean, seriously, is it that hard to hit that little X button? And then to present no “Are you sure?” measure? Surely no jury would convict me if I pushed that individual off a 10 story building.

Anyway, this Ctrl+Shift+T is a lifesaver. It even restores text entered into a text box!
